Me and my flowery twinny, FloLady Ochie received these lovely, sweet golden roses

at The Black Ceremony of Suddenly Sudden.

What is this?

It's actually a rose made of caramel and rose syrup, yess, rose syrup!

It's not just beautiful, it's also lovely and sweet, with an awesome petals detail,
 perfect for morning or afternoon tea companion.

(But you must have the heart to place it inside the tea.... for it will slowly melted).

The wonderful Chef Stefan Aris made this, and i really love how it taste.

Sweet and rosey!

ENVY

When I heard that ArtMedium Design is gonna celebrate their 8th birthday, I was really envy.

So that's my concept for my vinyl illustration collage.

Envy is visualized as a bird, creating a hole inside us.

It destroys us, but, if we use it in a right way,

we can change it into motivation to be better.

Since this is a re-use art, so I'm using unused stuffs such as

unused laces and craft papers.

"The End?"

yes, the end, with question mark.

why the question mark?

well people always fear of the unknown, and we know nothing about death. 

When will we die?

How? Where? Why?

What happen after we die?

And many other questions.

 Because to answer every question regarding death, means we have to experience it ourselves. 

As I quote from Silentia, "I do not fear Death, rather fear its uncertainty."

So, this will be my obituary:

RIP, Yola. 

Is this the end for her? Or is she entering a new beginning? 

Or is she starting to haunt us as a ghost? Or is she reincarnating as a black cat? 

I guess we'll never know... until we too, die.

This artwork, along with other 24 great artworks

are ready to be auctioned.

All the money will be donated to PEPA and Dompet Dhuafa.

BlackenDeath ACT Journal

So I was really happy to be one of 25 great artists that contribute to

a charity event held by Kopi Keliling called ACT.

The donation will be given PEPA, an organization that helps Indonesian women with HIV/AIDS.

So the theme for the charity exhibition is Obituary.

All of the artists were given a sketchbook, made by the women in PEPA

and we must filled it with any thoughts, regrets, hopes, dreams, anything, 

as a legacy if we die on July 28, 2013.

So here are some of my thoughts about death inside the sketchbook.

I really didn't have the time to take photos of them all.

The sketchbooks of the 25 artists are now shown in Kedai Tjikini.

so yeah, when I die, I wanna take some post mortem photos with me 

wearing my best black lacey dress.

I think Death Angel, or Grim Reaper, or whatever you called her, 

I don't think she's scary or evil or cruel.

She is simply doing her job, and she doesn't discriminate people.

Whoever you are, no matter how rich or pretty or success, you will die one day.

So here, I drew her as a beautiful, wise angel.

But that's just my thoughts...

After finished with the journal sketchbook,

the artists must create an illustration of their own Obituary.
And these artworks will be put in a silent auction where all the money
will be donated to PEPA and Dompet Dhuafa.

ACT Exhbition was held at Kedai Tjikini.

It was so much fun doing it, and such an honour to be part of ACT.

BlackenthePie: Hernov's Lemon Meringue Pie

I'm not a big fan of pie or lemon, or meringue.

But when I saw this Lemon Meringue Pie picture made by Hernov, 

I really want it!

So finally today, the punk pie came, still warm and fresh!

And the sweet smell fills my house.

It has a lovely look, with spiky meringue makes it unique and cute LOL

The pie crust is yummy, the lemon filling balances the sweetness of the soft-textured meringue.

It's a perfect companion for a lovely afternoon, with a cup of warm sugarless tea.

I love it, and if you're a sweet tooth, you'll love it too.
